Summary: Electrical Outlets Question: Is a GFI outlet installed at the start of a run or at the end of the run? Thanks, Mike. Hi Michael - Great Question! The best place to install a GFCI outlet or receptacle is at the beginning of the circuit, wiring it so the load to the rest of the circuit is wired through the GFCI and the remaining receptacles or devices are then protected by the GFCI.

Hi Michael - Great Question!

Make sure that the wiring is correct with the Line being the wires coming from the panel source. As always be sure to identify the circuit and make sure it is off before proceeding.
