One of my favorite meters is my clamp on meter. This meter allows me to test continuity, voltage and amperage - it's like having 3 meters in one. The meter has a digital display and features an auto shut off to save battery life

These meters are available from manufacturers such as Greenlee, Fluke, Amprobe and others.
