  Summary: Emergency electrical repairs should be made using the right materials for your particular application. Here a a few choices to help you decide what you'll need.

Ground Splices
* Choose from below

Direct burial electrical cables (UF - Underground Feeder Cable) and electrical conduits can become damaged from a variety of situations and reasons and will need to be repaired in a way that will be a safe and lasting repair. The environmental moisture and possible natural occurring corrosive elements will require the right preparation and splice method. Recently I made two splices and had to use different methods that I will cover below.

The first repair required a direct burial splice so I chose the Scotch Cast Inline Resin Splice. I have used this kit several times for electrical and telephone cable repairs. A word of advice - choose the right size to allow enough room for your all of your wire connectors to fit in the cast. If your cable is not long enough to allow for wire nuts, then use Butt-Splice Crimp Connectors, making sure that you are using the right size connector for the gauge of wire to be spliced, and make sure to crimp down tightly using the correct crimping pliers as shown below.
