The Key To Having Several 4-Way Switches

Bryan, there is not limit to the number of 4-way switches that can be used to control lighting as long as the electrical wiring has been installed appropriately, and it isn’t that difficult.

The Basics of Four-Way Switch Wiring

  • Basically, any number of four way switches can be installed between two three-way light switches.
  • The easiest way to wire four way switch wiring is to install a 3-wire cable through each light switch box, starting at the first three-way switch, going through each four way switch box, and ending at the last three-way switch.
  • The actual wiring connections will be adjusted according to where the power feed is located.
